Balinese Dancer
This mixed media Pictorial Art Quilt explores the possibilities of "raising the surface." The relief elements are studies from a book by Maggie Grey. The portrait was painted on prepared canvas using oil paint, then cut out and appliqued onto the background. Materials used were: canvas, oil paint, plastic canvas, twine, PVC glue, tissue paper, oil paint sticks, foam board, peltex, beads and commercial fabrics.

Judy, your work is very exciting. The Balinese Dancer and Oriental Collage are wonderful. Is this the beginning of a new "oriental" phase? Also, the Mermaid's Tale made me laugh and the Picasso fish was fun, too. I hope to see more of your work.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy - I didn't get a chance today to tell you how much I like the Balinese Dancer. It is a beautiful piece. You are cooking!
ReplyDeleteJudy, I like your work a lot. I would be proud to have created any of your pieces. Especially I love Window of Opportunity! I really admire your ability to make that perfect eye!
