Multicolor Basket: Botanical Series is a 23 x 26 raw edge, improvisational composition. That is: you start with a basic focal point and compose as you go. Everything is freeform cut from fabrics, using a pair of scissors and a good eye. The fabric cuts are layed down on a piece of muslin which is cut to be the size you want. The basket is made from many small strips of printed fabric. The challenge was to make them look like a basket. Commercial and hand dyed fabrics were used. This wallhanging won 4th place at Studio 55 Arts Exhibit.
Beautiful and so instantly 'different'. I love all the close stitching.
