Heart's Desire: Mixed Media Collage

Heart's Desire: Mixed Media Collage is an 11 X 14 Valentine piece. Photography on fabric has been a new experimentation with my mixed media works. A vintage photo from the internet was downloaded into my pictures program, and printed onto photo fabric. It is done with my Epson Inkjet Printer that uses Dura Bright inks. The beauty of this photo fabric is that it can be stitched with the sewing machine. The heart is made from needlefelted wool roving. Metal is used in this piece. Copper wire from an old telephone line is used with beads and artist's grade copper sheet is stamped with Staz On ink. Polymer clay, beads and recycled Christmas decor is also used. Hand embroidery is done on the felt heart. Click on picture for closer view. Heart's Desire was accepted into the Ozark Empire Fair; Fine Arts Mixed Media Category.
